Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get to know the influence of farmers in application of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method either partially or simultaneously in correlation of improvement of productivity paddy production, the usage of labor work Taken from extended family and spending costs in cultivating farm using SRI method. The participation of farmer in the method of SRI is influenced by internal factor related with adoption of new farming innovation methods, the usage of farming technology, skill they possess and their attitude. While external factors that are influence are, the productivity of paddy harvest, number of labors work and spending costs in production. To determine the research location is by using purposive sampling method, where population of the research are member of peasant group are 150 people. That are 45 people are taken for research samples. The 45 people have been applying SRI method. The technique of taking sample by using field observation method, meant by collecting data that are needed from total number of population to determine number sample. In this method, data are collected through questioner; and standard values is made by using Likert scale. The statistic of this research by using multiple linear regression and being analyzed by using SPSS 17 soft ware, to test the hypothesis, analysis tool of the research using multiple linear regression; partial regression (t- test) and simultaneous regression (F test). While testing the validity of the questioner by using validity and reliability test. Result of the research conclude that there are positive correlation between the improvement production of paddy field and the usage of labor force coming from number of family upon the participation of farmer in applying SRI method either partially or simultaneous by, while production cost variables less influence for only 38,3%. The most dominant variables test influencing the improvement of production paddy. field in Kelam Permai of Sintang Regency is the participation of farmer in the SRI method.
