Abstract

This study was conducted to explore the nutritional status of chi ldren under five factors (i.e. mother education background, family income, children under five healthy, health environment, access to health service, and access to media informations). A cross-sectional study was conducted in Ciruas, Mancak, and Kramatwatu health service in Serang, Banten province. Analysis was done by observations on 121 people. The nutritional status of children under five was measured using anthropometry. From the results of the study the following conclusion can be drawn. There was 22% very poor nutritional status, 9% poor nutritional status, 74% good nutritional status, and 5% very good nutritional status. In addition, for very poor and poor nutritional status was dominated with mother with poor education background, frequency of fiding under three times a days, poor healthy condition, less access to media infonnation, and poor health environment. However, there are poor nutritional status in high income family and mother with high education background, it seem that still nutritional status factors depend on the way of look after children under five.
