Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian agricultural products compared to other ASEAN countries. In addition, this paper also analyzes the growth of Indonesia’s export of agricultural products in ASEAN countries. Analyses were performed using analysis of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Constant Market Share Analysis (CMSA). The data used is secondary data from UN Comtrade using HS code 1996 on 24 agricultural products with HS code ranging from 01 to 24. The results show that the group of Indonesian agricultural products which have the highest competitiveness are group 15 (vegetable oil and animal dominated CPO), group 14 (vegetable planting materials, vegetable products etc) and group 18 (cocoa and cocoa preparation). Based on the CMSA, indicates that the growth of Indonesian exports of agricultural products to ASEAN countries during the period 2010-2013 increased by 22.9 percent. Growth was due to the competitiveness of Indonesian agricultural products increased. However,Indonesian exports of agricultural products to ASEAN countries has not been addressed to countries that have high import growth, and Indonesia has not exported agricultural products which have high demand in ASEAN countries.
