Abstract
The problem of this research was the correlation between the organization culture and the job ethos at the Education Board of Kepulauan Riau Province. The objectives of this research were to get data and information about the organization culture and job ethos, and also to know about the correlation between the organization culture and job ethos at the Education Board of Kepulauan Riau Province. The basic theory of this research was the theory stating that the factors which influence the job ethos were social and geographical environments, religions, and cultures. Methodology used in this research was quantitative-descriptive utilizing correlation method. The Pearson Product Moment was used to compute the data. In getting the data the writer distributed the questionnaire to 63 respondents as the sample of the whole population. So the sampling technique was the full sampling. Based on the data it was found that: the first, the organization culture at the Education Board of Kepulauan Riau Province was very good as its value reaches 77,5%. The second, the value of the work ethos at the Education Board of Kepulauan Riau Province was good with its value 72,9%. The third, there was a significant influence of the organization culture to the work ethos at the Education Board of Kepulauan Riau Province. The correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment was 0,379 at the 0,002 significant level. Based on the research results above, it was concluded that the organization culture can be increased by the good collaboration of the all officers. It can be applied by trusting each other, having good self control, having good work norms and attitudes, communicating openly with each other and having high confidence to work hard. The work ethos can be increased by working hard, being honest in working and behaving, thinking rationally, having high self confidence, having high responsibility for what have been done, working professionally, working independently, and being physical and emotional healthy.
