Abstract

The improvement of educations institutions need to be done because Melawi regency is a new regency established on January 7, 2004. As a new regency, the government and educators should find a correct format or better mainframe to develop the quality of education in this region. The reformation in all aspects must deal with approximately to the minimum standard in which the quality of teaching and learning will show the improvement. These standards involve the standard of education facility, the standard of educators, the standard of financial, the standard of content, the standard to of output or graduation competence and so forth. These standards are expected suit to the Government regulation Number of 19, 2005 about The National Education Standard (SNP). Some indicators point out that the teaching performance of the teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Nanga Pinoh is steadily increasing when it applied a good administration service which has a good quality in providing the service to the students administration, the extracurricular and staff administration. This improvement can be seen on the yearly progress of the graduation and there has a reducing in number of students who were dropped out from school. Next, positively many teachers who have been teaching in this school are certified and some others have got Post Graduation so that gives a positive influence and often becomes a central point for developing the quality of education in Melawi Regency due to its teachers competence and the availability of school's facilities. Finally, SMP Negeri 1 Nanga Pinoh has become the central of teachers' association or MGMP in which the teachers can discuss or plan and undertake the various academic competitions for all students in this regency.
