Abstract

As an institution that is engaged in health services to the community at the bottom line, the role of Community Health Center (Puskesmas) is essential in order to establish a healthy society physically, socially and mentally unbalanced. The role of Puskesmas can be seen from the extent to which the quality of services provided by Puskesmas as the basis and form of existence actualization of Puskesmas. Puskesmas as first-line health communities face the challenge of improving the quality of its institutions. Pangkalpinang as the capital of the province of Bangka Belitung is growing should be a model for other cities, especially in relation to quality management of Puskesmas as institutions in order to serve the community in the field of health. This study aimed to assess the quality of management of the Puskesmas in the town of Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung province. Descriptive study conducted in nine Puskesmass in the city Pangkalpinang using self-assessment questionnaires European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). There are two criteria used are enablers and results. In this study only used the criteria of enablers, because it focuses more on the internal state of Puskesmas management. Leadership enablers criteria indicate Puskesmas management opportunities are better in the future, because leadership is a major drive components of Puskesmas. Criteria for Policy and Strategy of Puskesmas need attention from the Puskesmas leaders. This criterion is very important because the Policy and Strategy in the Puskesmas management becomes an important factor that the vision and mission of the Puskesmas can be reached
