Abstract
The Objective of this research was to determine the role of public relations in UPBJJ-UT Bandar Lampung in increasing the image of UT in Lampung Province. Respondents in this research were 100 respondents which spread across five districts and cities in the Province of Lampung. Assessment was done by using a Likert scale and discussed in descriptive with frequency tables and diagrams. The Results showed respondents opinion about the role of public relations were: professionalism: 3.00 (acceptable); service: 3.05 (acceptable), customer orientation: 4.16 (good); popular: 2.58 (fair), modern: 3.37 (acceptable). Respondents' opinions about the UT image variables are: the attributes of the product: 3.25 (acceptable), customer orientation: 3.34 (acceptable), values, and social programs: 3.28 (acceptable), and credibility: 3.38 (acceptable). Influence the role of public relations in the image of UT was valued at 4.63 which means the value of the implementation of public relation strongly affected the image of UT. Effect of imagery on attitudes and interests UT respondents showed sympathy indicator: 4.71 (very sympathetic if UT’s image is good) and the interest to use or offer to others: 4.69 (very interested if UT’s image is good).
