Abstract

The majority of primary and secondary education teachers in Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province, have never had the opportunity to attend newspaper publication article writing training, which is needed for the development of the teaching profession. The community empowerment activities carried out in collaboration with the Palu City Education and Culture Office are aimed at providing training to 25 teachers representing each of their schools. Material presentation uses the lecture method, question and answer, and assignment. Discussion of the basic concepts of newspaper publication writing using 30% lecture and question and answer methods, while the practice method or training assignment is 70%. In accordance with the results of the evaluation process and the results of group work, it was shown that all participants were able to understand well the basic concepts of newspaper publication article writing, and some participants had succeeded in sending their writings into Central Sulawesi Radar Newspaper and Central Sulawesi Lighthouse newspapers.
