Abstract
Teachers are a crucial component in the education system, who are essential for educational success. In the framework of professional development, teachers cannot escape themselves from academic activities which require higher-order thinking skills, especially in the science subject. The science subjects must prepare students to face the increasingly advanced world of science and technology. This study aimed to improve the professionalism of science teachers in conducting a quality learning process through higher-order thinking skills questions. Evaluation instruments were developed based on the national standard and then validated and valued by experts. Instrument results data were analyzed by SPSS 22. The results show that the level of satisfaction in the workshop was very high. The science teachers gained knowledge and skills related to developing a quality learning. The study was expected to aid teacher development programs towards professional teachers.
