Abstract

The Flora Fauna group, Bukit Indah, Serua, Ciputat, is located in South Tangerang. The community has been fostered by the Open University through community service activities since 2015, has successfully become a zitizens association piloting the management of social facilities for improving community-based environmental welfare in the City of South Tangerang. Since 2017 this community has been able to produce tea from Tin leaves, and make ready-to-eat food with the basic ingredients of catfish, namely cireng, chips and cheestick, all of which are made from catfish. The processed product is packaged in plastic wrap which aims to protect and facilitate the marketing of the product. In 2018 the Open University’s community service team provided guidance to the Flora Fauna group regarding the Packaging of Food Products and Food Permits. Dried products, cheestick and tea from Tin leaves, have been analysed at Bogor Agriculture Institut laboratory, the results of the lab test showed that the cheestick and the dried Tin leaves were good and suitable for consumption. The certificate is needed in order to expand the marketing the products to modern markets such as minimarkets or supermarkets.
