Abstract

Bank is a financial institution that collects public fund and distribute the fund back to the community in the form of credit and another in order to improve the lives of many people. A Bank also has an important role in economy by serving as an intermediary (financial intermediary). This study aims to analyze the influence of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), NonPerforming Loan (NPL), ROA, Net Interest Margin (NIM), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) on Return on Assets (ROA) in commercial banking during the period of 2009- 2013. The results show that, financial ratios of the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), NonPerforming Loan (NPL), ROA, Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Loan to Deposit ratio (LDR) had no significant effect either simultaneously nor partially on the Return on Assets (ROA). This is due to bank’s good capital ability to manage optimum profitability.
