This research aims to investigate the challenges in learning and teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) within the Sharia Business Management (SBM) program, focusing on the perspectives of lecturers and students regarding the relevance of ESP and the content areas necessary for professional success. The study employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques involving interviews and observations conducted in the Sharia Business Management study program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Interviews were carried out with lecturers and students within the SBM program to gain an in-depth understanding of their experiences in learning and teaching ESP. The results indicate that both lecturers and students have a perception of the importance of ESP in the context of global Sharia business, along with the need for contextualized materials, extended course duration, and improved facilities. Additionally, mastery of Islamic finance principles, legal terminology, cross-cultural communication, and business documentation in English were identified as crncial areas that should be incorporated into the ESP curriculum.
