Abstract

This research is conducted with the aim at finding out whether the problem based learning model has influence on the result of the learning and the learning completion of vocational high school students. The hypotesis which are being tested in this research. The learning result of the students who get problem based learning model is better than the students who learn with convensional method. With the application of problem based learning model in mathematics learning process, the students are able to achieve the learning completion. This research is an experiment research. The population in this research is the students of vocational high school in Bogor with the reachable population is the students of SMK Negeri 3 Bogor. The sampel of this research is the students of X Hotel Accomodation 1 as the control class and the students of X Hotel Accomodation 2 as the experiment class. The data which are gained from the test and non test of mathematics results consists of the scale of student attitude on the problem based learning model. The result of the analysis by using the mean test of independent sample shows that the learning result of the students in the experiment class is better than the result of the students in the control class (p = 0,000). The completion of the learning result of the students in the experiment class (69,8%) is better than the students in the control class (64,5%). For the scale of attitude,the students who study with the problem based learning model give the positive responses toward the problem based learning method.
