Abstract

This article is the result of a preliminary stud) to improve the learning supports given in the online tutorial for a course. Organic Chemistry 3. PEKI 4416, in the Chemistry) Education Study Program at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education. Universitas Terbuka The preliminary study identified the difficulties in studying the course according to the expert faculty, who taught 1he course in another institution, and who also was the expert reviewer of the primed course module, and also according to the students who took the course, owned and utilized the printed module, who participated in the online tutorial. The study also identified learning strategies to study such course from the literature, such as developing the concept map, applying the general study skills, besides studying the printed module, since all exam items are based on it The methodology for the study was survey based on the learning objectives of the primed modules for the student and the expert faculty. and the learning strategies and the study skills of the students. The survey were conducted in the 2013 Literature review of learning strategies for such advance organic chemistry) course also conducted The respondents are one expert faculty and students The resul1s of the study were difficulties in studying the course how to overcome them according to the expert faculty and difficulties according to the students. Those findings were utilized to improve the online tutorial by providing the learning supports in various forms, such as open educational resources (OER) from the internet and learning guidelines in the form of questions to accompany the primed module. The OER are in the forms of video from the Youtube or text about various concept maps from the internet. Those learning supports are implemented in the online tutorials in 2014
