Abstract

Media play significant roles in distance education system. Integrating printed and nonprinted media in course delivery could enhance students’ understanding of learning materials. Methodology of Cognitive Development is one course in Diploma II Preschool Teacher Education Study Program in Universitas Terbuka which using printed (module) and video compact disc to deliver its learning materials. Involving all 85 students in the study program registered at Jakarta regional office of UT in 2005.1 semester, the research aims at evaluating quality of video used in the course in term of its content and objectives, technical quality, and instructional quality. Using a questionnaire, data from 68 (80%) returned questionnaires show that content and objectives of the VCD is rated ok, technical quality is rated ok, while instructional quality is rated good.
