Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of critical thinking ability and student characters in learning reading comprehension in elementary school. Itis to configure a very important level of utility as the basis for implementationof multiliteration model. The method used in this research is quasi experiment with Time Series design (interrupted time-series). This study used a sample of 30 students of grade VI SDN Sekarwangi. Firstly, the samples were given pretestsfor several times, in a way to determine the stability and clarity of the sample state. Treatment is given if the condition of the sample is stable. The data collected to answer the research is pretest-posttest in the form of essay, and LKP is used to measure the strength of character. The treatment given is a multi-literation learning model. The result of this study indicates that the application of multiliteration learning model significantly influence the ability of critical thinking and character of grade 6 students of elementary school. This is proven by the use of learning skills before and after learning by using multi-literation model. The average score of pretest students' thinking ability is 54.3 while the average posttest score is 79.5. The characters raised in this study have been entrenched.
