Abstract

Phytopractices are plant manipulation techniques and microclimatic improvement which may select, propagate or preserve plants on an individual basis. They aim at improving qualitatively cultivated plant production. They are used in general in tropical countries. These techniques, often quite old, localy used, prove to be often very efficient. In the first part of this work, an inventary of phytopractices in Indonesia and other tropical countries show that they are widely used and of much interest, however, they have not thouroughly studied and furthermore this information should be transmitted to farmers of developing countries. Phytopractices should be tested and in some cases improved in order to adapt them to regions where we intend to introduce them. The second part of this work consists of the experimentation: the first experimentation relats to the grafting between two species of Convolvulaceae. The second concern the effect of mounding on the production of sweet potatoe. The third experimentation relats to the utilisation of shalot extract for stimulating rooting of lime Tahiti leaf cutting.
