Abstract
This research studies the relationship between Self Directed Learning Readiness (SDLR), Face to Face Tutorial, and Final Exam in semester 1, year 2011. Population was all students from Faculties of Economics, and Sosial Sciences who were participated in face to face tutorials at UT’s regional office from Jakarta, Serang and Bandung. 150 respondents were taken from population by purposive sampling. SDLR instrument were distributed to the respondents. All scores from 100 courses in face to face tutorial, and final exam were taken from UT’s database. 122 respondents returned the instrument but 34 of them did not have scores in face to face tutorials or final exam. Correlation between scores in face to face and final exam from those who filled the instrument was significantly negative. However, correlation between those scores from the population was not significant. In addition, the mean score of SDLR was high. From 76 courses that offer face to face tutorials, there was only one course where participants had higher score in final exam than those who were not participated in face to face tutorial. The other ten courses did not show significant differences in final exam mean scores between those who were in face to face tutorial and those who were not in face to face tutorials. 65 courses, the mean scores of final exam from those who were involved in face to face tutorial were significantly lower than those who were not involved in face to face tutorials. Besides, there were significantly differences mean scores in face to face tutorial and final exam between Jakarta, Serang and Bandung.
